Front of House & Café Team Member
Be one of the first people our members and guests meet. We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic and reliable people to join our Front of House & Café team.
About the role
We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic and reliable people to join our Front of House & Café team at Ultimate Padel Club.
As one of the first people our customers will meet, you'll play an important role in creating the welcoming, relaxed and friendly atmosphere we want our club to be known for. The role will involve a mixture of reception, customer service and café duties, so we're looking for someone who enjoys being around people, is happy to get stuck in and takes pride in providing a great experience for our members and guests. Full training will be provided.
No two shifts will necessarily be the same - you could be welcoming new members, helping someone with a booking, serving food or drinks, keeping the club looking great, or helping make sure everything around the club is ready for the next group of players.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming members, guests and visitors with a friendly and positive attitude.
- Providing excellent customer service and helping create a welcoming club atmosphere.
- Helping customers with bookings, payments, memberships and general enquiries.
- Managing the reception desk and assisting with day-to-day club operations.
- Serving hot and cold drinks, food, snacks and other café products.
- Serving and promoting padel merchandise and other club products.
- Operating the till and handling payments accurately.
- Preparing simple food and drinks in line with food hygiene requirements.
- Keeping the café, reception and customer areas clean, tidy and well presented.
- Helping ensure the courts, changing rooms and communal areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Identifying and reporting any maintenance, safety or operational issues.
- Dealing with customer queries or problems calmly and professionally, escalating where necessary.
- Supporting the Club Manager and wider team with the smooth running of the venue.
- Helping with events, tournaments and busy periods when required.
What we're looking for
Most importantly, we're looking for great people. You'll ideally be:
- Friendly, approachable and naturally good with people.
- Positive, enthusiastic and able to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Reliable, punctual and well organised.
- Conscientious and flexible to support the team.
- Confident communicating with a wide range of customers.
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
- Happy to get stuck in and help wherever needed.
- Calm and professional when dealing with busy periods or customer issues.
- Someone who takes pride in keeping their surroundings clean, tidy and presentable.
- Interested in sport, fitness or padel - although previous padel experience isn't essential.
Previous café, hospitality, leisure or customer service experience would be an advantage, but personality and attitude are just as important to us as experience. Food hygiene training will be required for relevant duties and can be provided where necessary.
The hours
This is a full-time role working the following shifts:
- Monday & Tuesday
- 14:00 – 22:00
- Wednesday & Thursday
- 07:00 – 15:00
- Saturday
- 14:00 – 22:00
What we offer
- Competitive hourly pay.
- On-site parking.
- A friendly and relaxed working environment.
- The opportunity to be part of a brand-new padel club from the beginning.
- Staff benefits.
We're looking for people who will help make Ultimate Padel Club somewhere that people genuinely enjoy coming to - whether they're here to play padel, grab a coffee or simply spend some time with the community.
